What we collect

Benefit Buddy doesn’t collect, save or send the information you type into the calculators. Everything is worked out in your web browser, on your own device.

What’s stored on your device

While you move between calculators, your answers are kept in your browser tab so you don’t have to retype them. They’re cleared when you close the tab (unless you choose to keep a My summary on this device, below). Your browser also remembers your text-size and dark-mode choices.

Visit counts

To count visits, we use GoatCounter, a privacy-friendly analytics service that doesn’t use cookies and doesn’t follow you from site to site. It records the page that was visited, the site you came from, your browser and screen size, and your approximate country. It doesn’t see anything you type into the calculators or add to My summary.

My summary

If you add results to My summary, they’re held in your browser tab. If you choose “keep it on this device”, they’re stored in your browser’s local storage until you delete them from the My summary page. They’re never sent to us or anyone else. Please don’t keep a summary on a shared or public computer.

Fonts

The site’s fonts are stored on this site, so your browser doesn’t contact Google or any other font service.

Estimates only

The results are estimates based on the information you give and the published rates. Your actual payment is decided by Services Australia. For an official answer, visit servicesaustralia.gov.au, or see our free help page for phone numbers.
