Working while on DSP

See how different amounts of work change your Disability Support Pension, and what you’d have in total.

Step 1 of 3: About you

About you

How old are you?

The rates and tests for people under 21 are different.

Are you single or part of a couple?
Do you own the home you live in?

Your home isn’t counted in the assets test, but owning it changes the limits that apply to you.

About the working while on DSP planner

If you get the Disability Support Pension and want to work, this planner shows your payment and total income at different levels of pay. A single person can have $226 a fortnight of income before the pension is reduced, and then loses 50 cents of payment for each extra $1.

Your total income, pay plus payment, keeps rising as you earn more. Check with Services Australia before changing your work, as other rules about medical reviews and hours can apply.
